
We now have a winner of the 5th ALTIA Premia : Alberto Ruibal , with his project , "Android Mobile Application for Crohn's Disease ." Since its creation five years ago, ALTIA Premia has established itself as a benchmark in the promotion of technological projects that provide innovative solutions to various types of challenges, reflecting ALTIA´s firm commitment to fostering talent and creativity in the technological field.
Improve the quality of life
Alberto Ruibal's project, the result of his final degree project, is a mobile app designed to assist people with Crohn's disease in tracking their diet and identifying potentially harmful foods . Through a meticulous analysis of eating patterns and associated symptoms, this tool allows users to personalize their diet and improve their quality of life . It also integrates features for tracking various health parameters, offering a holistic approach to disease management .
The ALTIA Premia jury believes that “Alberto’s work has been distinguished by its rigor and professional approach . By including surveys of people suffering from Crohn’s disease, he has managed to direct his project toward a goal of great social value , improving understanding of the disease and helping to detect outbreaks. His dedication and effort far exceed what is expected for a TFG , demonstrating how adversity can become a driving force for personal and professional growth.” For the jury members, “Alberto has used his personal experience with Crohn’s disease as a catalyst for the development of this application, selflessly putting technology at the service of people . His commitment and enthusiasm have been key to achieving and exceeding the proposed objectives, marking a before and after in the lives of those who live with this disease.”
"I was diagnosed with Crohn's when I was 15 years old, so when I chose the topic of my final project, I was clear that I wanted to make a positive contribution to helping people who suffer from this condition," says Alberto Ruibal. "When I applied to Altia Premia, I wanted to give the project visibility and raise awareness about the disease. I am very grateful to everyone who uses the app and to the healthcare professionals who have always supported me . Now I can use the prize money to continue funding the project ."
