By joining the STEAM Alliance for Female Talent, Niñas en pie de ciencia (Girls Standing Tall in Science) aligns with the efforts of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport to promote scientific and technological vocations among girls and young women. This step reinforces our commitment to contributing to a more diverse digital future, one that is aligned with our corporate purpose: Technology for real growth.
In a sector where female representation remains a challenge, at ALTIA we actively work to bring technology into the classroom and explain, in an accessible and realistic way, the professions that can be developed in a technology company. Through our own initiatives, such as GenTech , and our collaboration on programs like Inspira STEAM, Technovation Girls, and Technologist for a Day, we give a voice to professionals who explain their daily work and highlight female role models who are already building their careers within our organization.
Our Director of Sustainability & ESG, Josefina Fernández , who attended the event held at the Palacio de Zurbano to sign the membership agreement, emphasizes the importance of this visibility effort: “Many girls still don't know what it really means to work in technology. That's why it's essential to show them relatable and real-life examples. The women who are already paving the way in our company are role models capable of inspiring new careers and demonstrating that this sector is also their place.”
The STEAM Alliance provides ALTIA with a fundamental framework to advance alongside institutions, organizations, and other companies in reducing the gender gap in technology. By joining, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting female talent and building a more innovative, equitable, and future-proof technology ecosystem.
