
This Thursday, in the ETSE Auditorium, the five finalists of the 5th ALTIA Premia Awards presented their final degree projects to the jury, made up of representatives from Altia and the University.
The jury praised the high level of the presentations by the finalists: Alberto Ruibal, Aldán Creo, Diana Mascareñas, Guillermo Blanco, and Nicolás Vilela.
The jury's decision will be made public in the last week of February .

The finalists presented their work to the jury, composed of Josefina Fernández, Ana Castro, Miguel Ares, and José Ramón Tubío, representing Altia; and María Jesús Taboada and Alberto Suárez, representing the School of Engineering of the University of Santiago de Compostela.

- Alberto Ruibal : "Android mobile application to help with Crohn's disease."
- Aldán Creo: "Automatic generation of summaries using natural language processing techniques."
- Diana Mascareñas: "HayPlan: Android mobile application for the organization of plans and events."
- Guillermo Blanco: "Predicting monitoring variables in the Galician countryside: a machine learning approach to environmental sensor data."
- Nicolás Vilela: "Design of EfficientNets for multispectral image classification using deep learning techniques."

About ALTIA Premia
Altia Premia is a joint initiative between ALTIA and the ETSE (Spanish Technical University of Seville) designed to promote digital training and talent among Computer Engineering undergraduate students. The award seeks to recognize students' effort and passion, granting the winner a prize of €1,500.
