Incarlopsa, a Spanish company specializing in pork products, has implemented an advanced technological solution that centralizes its entire transport management on a single digital platform. Thanks to this integration, carried out by ALTIA, the company can view the real-time status of its own fleet and third-party vehicles, thus optimizing logistics processes , reducing administrative burden, and improving responsiveness to incidents. The project was launched in October 2024 and has already achieved full coverage.

Incarlopsa is a family-owned company that leads the national meat sector as a comprehensive supplier of pork products. With a structure that integrates the entire value chain, from livestock production to final distribution, it has 12 industrial plants spread across Castilla-La Mancha, Castilla y León, and Andalusia, and a strong commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. Its growth and diversification have increased the complexity of its logistics operations, which involve both its own fleet and external operators. This dispersion created difficulties for real-time transport control, coordinating loading and unloading, and preventing incidents, prompting the search for a comprehensive technological solution that would guarantee visibility, traceability, and efficiency throughout the entire process.

The system we implemented is based on our Control Tower solution, a tool that centralizes the visibility of all logistics processes associated with Incarlopsa's operations within a single digital environment. The company, which operates both with its own transport fleet and with approximately fifteen external logistics providers, required a solution capable of consolidating all this dispersed information into a single, reliable, and accessible source.

Technical integration and mobile app

We have addressed this complexity through technical integration with the Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and GPS devices installed in the trucks of the various operators. In addition, we have deployed a mobile application that allows drivers to enter key information about operations: loading and unloading times, incidents, or unscheduled stops.

All this information is synchronized with Incarlopsa's ERP systems, providing its logistics managers with a complete, real-time view of each route. The tool also allows for the measurement of critical variables such as temperature in refrigerated trucks, thanks to integration with cold sensors, and the issuance of automatic alerts for any deviations.

The result is a more streamlined operation, with fewer calls, no redundant emails, greater traceability, and the ability to identify bottlenecks and evaluate each supplier's performance using precise key performance indicators (KPIs). Furthermore, the integration simplifies operations at the destination warehouses, as operators know the estimated arrival time of trucks in advance, improving resource allocation and reducing waiting times.

The implementation of the system has involved, in addition to technical development, ongoing support and training for the logistics teams and operators.

The most important aspect of this project has been the constant support provided to the client throughout all phases of the process,” says Ricardo Prieto, account manager at ALTIA . “Our priority isn’t simply delivering a technological tool, but ensuring that it adapts to each client’s human and operational environment. In a project like this, where multiple companies, trucks, drivers, and technologies need to be coordinated, building relationships of trust that allow for the successful integration of all system elements is undoubtedly essential.”

According to Jose Manuel Grela, Corporate Logistics Manager at Incarlopsa, “the integration of this platform represents a significant step forward for Incarlopsa in the management of our logistics chain. Having access to real-time, centralized information allows us to optimize routes, anticipate potential issues, and improve coordination with all our operators. Investing in digitalization is not just about efficiency, but also a further guarantee for our customers that our commitment to quality, traceability, and food safety is present in every shipment we make.”

Upcoming milestones

Following the success of this first phase, which culminated in the complete integration of carriers in just a few months, we are already working with Incarlopsa on the next milestones of the project. These include the complete digitization of transport documentation through the implementation of the e-CMR (Electronic Consignment Note), which will eliminate the use of paper in trucks, as well as the incorporation of systems to measure the carbon footprint associated with each journey.

These advancements reinforce ALTIA and Incarlopsa's commitment to more sustainable, secure, and efficient logistics, and confirm the strategic value of having tools that provide global visibility into transport. The project demonstrates how centralized logistics management , based on real-time data and cooperation among all stakeholders, can make a significant difference in a sector as demanding as agri-food.

This project falls within our line of work focused on technological transformation applied to logistics, where we provide advanced technical solutions and a supportive approach that facilitates implementation in complex and highly operational environments. Our ability to adapt to client needs, direct communication with all stakeholders, and accumulated experience in integrating with multiple systems make us a strategic partner for organizations seeking to improve the efficiency, traceability, and sustainability of their logistics processes through technology.
