
Constantino Fernández, CEO of Altia, was proclaimed today the winner of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Galicia . Alberto Núñez Feijóo, President of the Galician Regional Government, was responsible for presenting the award to this year's Galician winner. The awards ceremony took place today in A Coruña and brought together numerous representatives from the region's business and institutional circles.
In his speech at the event, and after congratulating the winner of the Galicia Award, Núñez Feijóo highlighted - in reference to the entrepreneurs - his " personal conviction that a country is the sum of its companies and an absolutely objective way of measuring a country is precisely the wealth it produces as a result of the talent, training and determination of its people."
In addition to the President of the Xunta, the event was also attended by Rosa Quintana , Regional Minister of the Sea; Miguel Corgos , Regional Minister of Finance and Public Administration; María Novo , Vice President of Corporate Banking at BNP Paribás; Luis Arias , Alumni & Institutional Development Director of the Madrid Campus of IESE; and, on behalf of EY, Marta Fernández Currás , Managing Partner responsible for EY in Galicia; and José Luis Ruiz Expósito , Partner responsible for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award at national level.
In the words of Constantino Fernández, “ I am grateful to EY for the recognition granted as Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Galicia, a region that saw me grow and where our business project was born almost three decades ago. I extend my gratitude to our clients, to the 2,400 people who make up Altia today, and to all those who have accompanied us over the years and have made it possible for me to receive this award .” He added: “We have supported various organizations in their technological development and in their challenges in the field of digital transformation. I am convinced that the best is yet to come and that the importance of the digital economy will continue to grow in the coming years. We hope to rise to the important challenges of the times to come. You will always find in us healthy entrepreneurial ambition, commitment, and enthusiasm for what we do.”

To date, the following finalists have been announced, who will compete for the national award: for the Andalusia and Extremadura region: Rosauro Varó, president of Gat Inversiones; the representatives of the central region: Jorge Gallardo, president of Vithas, and Juan Matjí, president of Cantabria Labs; and, for the northern region: Iñaki Latxaga , president of Albacora.
Constantino Fernández will compete in the national final of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award on June 22nd in Madrid, along with the other finalists from the different regions where the award is divided. The winning entrepreneur will then compete in Monte Carlo with approximately 60 representatives from around the world to win the EY Global Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
The prestigious award celebrates its 25th edition this year and is sponsored by BNP Paribas and in collaboration with IESE Business School.
