The National Commission on Markets and Competition (CNMC) has awarded us a contract worth €1,790,909 to develop and maintain its artificial intelligence (AI) and business intelligence (BI) tools. The agreement will be valid for 24 months and will enhance the agency's analytical capabilities while adapting its systems to new regulatory, technical, and functional requirements.
The CNMC is an independent public body that ensures the proper functioning of markets in Spain, benefiting both consumers and businesses. Its areas of expertise include sensitive sectors such as energy, telecommunications, transportation, and antitrust. In recent years, the entity has intensified its use of advanced digital tools to more effectively monitor economic activity. In this context, the modernization of its analysis systems and the incorporation of AI have become strategic elements for fulfilling its role with agility and precision.
New features
Once the contract is awarded, we will be responsible for coordinating a multidisciplinary technical team that will work on several existing platforms at the CNMC and develop new functionalities aimed at process automation, performance improvement, and advanced data exploitation. The contract includes various execution phases, including team integration, provision of the standard service, and a possible closure phase. It also includes specific on-demand actions to address any needs that may arise throughout the project's development.
At Altia, we will provide a variety of technical profiles specialized in full-stack development, artificial intelligence, GIS, and business intelligence, among others, with the goal of ensuring that solutions constantly evolve without losing the operational stability necessary for a public institution of this nature.
“This project excites us especially because it means directly contributing to an entity like the CNMC taking another step in its digital transformation,” says Alberto Loureiro, Director of Altia. “It's not just about maintaining systems; we're actually going to support them over the next two years in a process of continuous improvement in which both artificial intelligence and data analysis will play an increasingly central role in market oversight. Working for an institution like the CNMC requires a very high technical commitment, as well as a real capacity for adaptation, and our mission is to add value from day one.”
In addition to strictly technical tasks, we will offer specialized training to CNMC employees involved in the project. This will ensure that internal staff acquire new technological skills that will allow them to maintain autonomy in the use and development of the tools beyond the two-year contract period. This line of action seeks to ensure the sustainability of the improvements and strengthen the organization's long-term digital capabilities.
With this agreement, the CNMC consolidates its commitment to artificial intelligence as a tool to improve efficiency and transparency in its supervisory activities. For our part, it represents a new milestone in our history as a technology provider to the public sector and strengthens our position as a strategic partner in national and international projects where innovation, security, and adaptation are key factors for success.
