For another year, Altia is collaborating with the Technologist@ for a Day program run by the Galician Agency for Technological Modernization (AMTEGA), an activity aimed at middle and high school students that aims to promote STEAM vocations and interest in digital professions.
In this 7th edition, we shared our passion for technology with 16 high school students at our offices in A Coruña, Santiago, Vigo, and the Data Center.
Through the various activities organized in each office, our professionals presented their academic profile, their current position at Altia, and the project they're involved in. This allowed us to demonstrate the evolution from academic training to the workplace.
They were able to learn about the work of the development team behind our transport management solution, Altia Control Tower , visit part of the 2,500 m² of space in the Vigo Data Center, and see the application of agile methodologies for managing development teams by participating in the daily .
Additionally, through dynamics with the talent and marketing and communications teams, they were able to learn about other, more transversal areas of the company.
At the end of the session, everyone unanimously highlighted that what had surprised them most was "the great work environment, the friendliness and empathy of the team " and "the opportunity to learn about the workings of a company like Altia."
At Altia, we trust that the Technologists for a Day who visited us will be part of the generation that will allow us to continue growing and innovating in the future.
