III Foro IA Quincemil Altia

The 3rd Quincemil x Altia Business and Artificial Intelligence Forum, held in A Coruña on May 8, 2025, established itself as a benchmark for reflection on the impact of AI on the Galician business community. With this event, at Altia, as co-organizer, we reaffirm our commitment to innovation and ethical leadership in the adoption of disruptive technologies.

Promoting artificial intelligence in Galicia

The forum brought together more than 200 professionals from the business, technology, and public sectors, who shared experiences and discussed how artificial intelligence can transform business models in Galicia. During the event, practical cases of companies that are already integrating AI into their processes were discussed, highlighting both the benefits and the associated challenges.

The event was opened by Miguel Corgos, Regional Minister of Finance and Public Administration of the Xunta de Galicia, who announced that Galicia would be the first region to pass a law on the development of artificial intelligence. This is yet another example of how Galicia is leading the way in the adoption and development of the technology.

Continuing with the outstanding participation of representatives from the Xunta de Galicia, we also had the presence of Julián Cerviño, director of AMTEGA. He also emphasized the importance of using AI as a tool to improve public management. During his speech, he stressed that its implementation must be thoughtful and aligned with the ethical and social values of the community. "We don't want to use AI for the sake of using it," he stated, highlighting the need for a conscious and responsible approach.

Lessons learned and challenges ahead

The event also featured leading companies and professionals from various sectors, who gave us insightful reflections on the implementation of AI in the business world.

In a conversation moderated by Alba Meijide, an AI consultant, they were able to reflect on the potential of AI in productivity, its opportunities and risks, as well as the importance of its appropriate introduction into the company, with the participation of the various teams in each phase.

The second panel was composed of Antonio Soto from Altia; Julia Díaz from Repsol; José Delgado from Qaroní; and David Serantes from Resonac; who discussed some of the lessons learned from these types of projects. Once again, the speakers focused on the value of people and the strategy with which we approach each project. One of the recurring themes during the forum was the need to reflect on what AI can truly contribute to Galician companies. It was highlighted that, although many organizations have initiated AI projects, not all have real applicability and return on investment.

The Forum was closed by Inés Rey, Mayor of A Coruña, who highlighted how the city is a benchmark in technology thanks to its strong business network.

Path to sustainable innovation

At Altia, we participated in the 3rd Business and Artificial Intelligence Forum to further strengthen A Coruña's position as one of the country's leading technology hubs. During the event, we were able to share our experience implementing AI projects in various sectors, highlighting the importance of ethical leadership and evolution.
