Cybersecurity Month concludes with Cybersecurity Day.

Carlos Anta

This year, the campaign carried out by the European Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) had the slogan "Think Before U Click," due to the growth in threats to end users and businesses, especially phishing and ransomware.

At Altia, we offer cybersecurity solutions so our clients can stay ahead of threats through a comprehensive approach. That's why we took advantage of this day to speak with one of the Project Managers in this area, who could tell us a little more about his work in cybersecurity:

What do you do in the cybersecurity department?

As a Cybersecurity Project Manager, I'm involved in many projects. For those that implement security measures, I support the client throughout the entire process. On the other hand, for those that require our managed services, I'm involved from the outset to the full implementation, coordinating a team of highly qualified professionals to ensure everything runs smoothly and on schedule, protecting and providing peace of mind to all our clients.

We are currently expanding our portfolio of products and services to provide a comprehensive service catalog in terms of functional scope and timescale. Cybersecurity is a long-distance race, and it's essential to always be by the client's side: we can never fail, but cybercriminals only need one success.

We know you're currently involved in many projects. Which one would you highlight?

I have worked on several projects for clients across a variety of sectors and sizes, both in the public sector (healthcare, ports, and governments) and the private sector (food, furniture manufacturers, and industrial supply companies).

We're currently seeing many governments investing in cybersecurity , as they need a team capable of identifying, protecting, detecting, responding to, and recovering from cyberthreats. To manage cybersecurity risks, we have an expert and specialized team that monitors and investigates any threat or anomaly that occurs in their systems, responding and explaining the reasons for its occurrence, thus preventing further damage.

The Government of Andorra would be a good example, as it manages highly sensitive information that must be protected with special diligence. In this case, we have implemented a cyber defense solution that continuously monitors its activity, detecting any threats that may arise within the organization. We also conduct advanced incident investigations, collaborating with them at all times.

What tools do you use on a daily basis and which one would you like to highlight?

100% security doesn't exist today, so it's necessary to use different complementary solutions . I use a multitude of them and countless acronyms (SIEM, XDR, IAM, PAM, NDR, ZTNA, CASB, WAF, etc.) . The purpose of many of them is focused on data protection and digital identity, which are the most valuable assets for our clients today.

If I had to highlight one, it would be Darktrace : a cyber defense solution that uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to autonomously detect, protect, and neutralize cyber threats in real time, protecting data in the cloud, in the data center, in email, on the endpoint, in the factory, etc. Having an AI solution helps the team to be more efficient, since it provides much more and higher quality information, almost in real time. Thanks to the processing speed and Machine and Deep Learning technologies, it allows the necessary time to be dedicated to those threats that are truly relevant, increasing productivity and reducing risks.

Seeing these advantages and investing in this technology has led Altia to become a Platinum Partner and, this year, to receive the Rising Star award , recognizing our commitment and excellent results.

Where is Altia headed in cybersecurity?

Altia is already a technological benchmark at the national level and continues to expand its boundaries internationally.

In terms of cybersecurity , we are growing rapidly and consolidating, working with the leading manufacturers in the sector and with our 20 offices.

The pandemic has forced companies to quickly address a challenge they hadn't anticipated: digitalization. To ensure business continuity, employees who could work remotely had to adapt to this modality, without prior planning and without understanding the risks involved, a factor that cybercriminals took advantage of.

For this reason, digitalization cannot exist without cybersecurity , and that's where we can contribute, serving as our clients' armed force in achieving "secure digitalization" as a consultancy that provides "solid trust, a secure future."
