Hello! My name is Mara Correa , and I'm part of Altia's Legal Department.
In 2018, I enrolled in the bilingual Law Degree program at the University of A Coruña. I graduated in June of last year, and in September I began the training that would bring me to Altia: the Master's Degree in Digital Law and Artificial Intelligence (MUDDIA), also from the University of A Coruña. I am currently working at Altia with a collaboration grant from the Venancio Salcines Foundation.
Actually, before starting the master's degree, I didn't have much knowledge of the sector until I learned about Altia and other technology companies when I reviewed the list of partner organizations with MUDDIA. In January, long before we started talking about internships during the master's program, I discovered that Altia was looking for a profile for its Legal Department and decided to find out about the company. It was a position that perfectly matched what I was looking for in terms of professional development, so I decided to get in touch. Just as the position suited me, my supervisor liked my profile, so I would be joining in April to do my internship.
The first few days were undoubtedly overwhelming. I had to get up to speed on how the company worked, the branches of law covered, the latest corporate transactions, and other company-related information. But on the other hand, there were my new colleagues, who from the very beginning were a super-integrative and attentive team . I definitely have to highlight the support of my colleague Lorena , who always made sure I didn't lack anything and taught me everything I needed to know. I felt very welcomed and am very grateful for the opportunity.
The day I joined, I was welcomed by Nuria Caamaño from the Talent team, who told me about AltiaDigitalHub . I remember the positive feeling I got from the fact that there was a group dedicated to fostering integration dynamics among interns , regardless of the office. I attended a couple of link-ups and could see and sense the good vibes that were already being transmitted through the Zoom group from the beginning. They also offer various expert talks for more technical profiles, which, although very specialized for a profile like mine, seems like a great initiative to me.
Honestly, I had no idea how big the company was, and therefore how many employees it had. And I never imagined a project like AltiaDigitalHub!
My professional growth since arriving at Altia has undoubtedly been exponential. This is the first time I've worked on something related to my studies, so I have the opportunity to review all the content I learned at university, in addition to the new, more specific content I learned in my master's degree.
On a personal level, starting to work has made me feel like I've matured in certain aspects, without prejudice to the sense of independence that this experience gives you.
If I had to sum up my experience in three words, they would be:
- Learning , through the knowledge I acquire every day from my colleagues.
- Growth , both personally and professionally.
- Union , for the good atmosphere that prevails in the company.
