The evolution of today's businesses and society highlights the need to recruit professionals with the training and skills necessary to respond to new challenges.

In the technology sector, this means recruiting people with training in STEM fields (an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), which encompass skills and knowledge in one of these disciplines. Furthermore, there are also new STEM degrees related to data processing (Big Data) , virtual and augmented reality, the Internet of Things (IoT) , and artificial intelligence , among others.

To foster the vocational appeal of these careers and showcase the diverse employment opportunities to students, Altia has launched GenTech . Through this initiative, now in its fourth year, high school students from various educational centers in Galicia will be able to learn about the employability opportunities in highly in-demand professions in the current and future labor market.

At GenTech, we create a conversation space featuring ICT industry professionals who share their firsthand experience from a real, practical, and inspiring perspective, with the goal of awakening the technological gene.

To learn more about what STEM careers are, why they're called "professions of the future," and what their benefits are, register your school for GenTech by January 31, 2023.
