The awards, presented on March 18 by the ASLAN association, made up of 198 technology companies, seek to recognize the efforts of public organizations and companies that contribute to the development of new digital infrastructures, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
In this edition, the Ministry of Defense has been awarded in the "Technology, talent and knowledge" category with the project "New corporate virtual campus (GNOSS)" , a project of the General Directorate of Military Recruitment and Education (DIGEREM) and supported by the Center for Information and Communications Systems and Technologies (CESTIC), and which is the first service hosted in a public cloud by a provider external to the Ministry of Defense that CESTIC provides to the department.
This project aimed to address the challenge facing the Ministry of Defense in providing ongoing training to all its personnel. To achieve this, they needed a modern, up-to-date online teaching platform, suitable for teachers and students, with the necessary tools to deliver quality education.
Having a virtual campus in the public cloud has marked a significant milestone in this Ministry's digitalization strategy. Through this solution, which enables training for 40,000 users per month, students and teachers can connect to the platform from anywhere, at any time, breaking down geographical and time barriers and gaining access to a wide range of resources. During the migration of the more than 2,500 active courses to this new OpenLMS-based cloud, Altia has ensured easy access to the Ministry's intranet and internet.
The GNOSS project expands the educational offering through massive online courses (MOOCs), incorporates digital resources based on artificial intelligence that optimize the creation of educational content, and offers a more dynamic and accessible educational experience, improving the quality and efficiency of teaching.
