We have been awarded the ECCAIRS2 project for the development and maintenance of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) air incident reporting information system . The project has a four-year duration and a maximum budget of €4.5 million.

ECCAIRS2 (European Coordination Centre for Accident and Incident Reporting Systems) is a digital platform that integrates National Aviation Authorities and European Safety Investigation Authorities.

The mission of ECCAIRS2 is to provide a digital platform that enables the implementation of the provisions defined in Regulation (EU) No. 376/2014. ECCAIRS2 helps aviation authorities collect, share, and analyze their safety information with the ultimate goal of improving aviation safety.

The project is managed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) at the request of the Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG Move).

Comprehensive system management

Through BILBOMATICA, an ALTIA Company, we started the development of ECCAIRS2 in 2019. The system is continuously used by different national authorities and aviation safety organizations in the Member States, as well as construction companies, with more than 5,000 users that will reach the figure of 20,000 in 2025 . During the next four years, we will continue to be in charge of the evolution, maintenance and training activities of this system .

The project encompasses the end-to-end management of the ECCAIRS2 system , from analysis to post-implementation support , including development, deployment, and quality assurance. Container deployment, test automation, and the integration of DevSecOps practices are key elements we incorporate to ensure a reliable and secure system. Our commitment to continuous delivery allows the system to evolve in parallel with the emerging needs of EASA and Member States, all within an AGILE development framework .

“Air safety is becoming more of a global concern every day, and having the opportunity to continue contributing our expertise to enhance it for another four years is a responsibility we embrace with the utmost ambition,” says Óscar Fernández, European Services Manager at ALTIA. “ With this project, we will undoubtedly continue to demonstrate that technology and innovation go hand in hand with safety and operational efficiency.”

The award of this contract reflects the confidence of European Union agencies in Altia. The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has relied on our capabilities for the development, maintenance, and training of this aircraft incident reporting system since 2019 .
