The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food has awarded Altia a contract worth €1,215,630 for the comprehensive development of its e-Office and the horizontal applications and services that support it . The project will allow for further progress in the Ministry's digital transformation process with a series of improvements in the area of e-Government, both in terms of its technological architecture and the services associated with its office.

The Ministry's e-Office is a highly critical system that allows citizens and companies to submit applications for various types of aid, all of which require very high standards and offer immediate response times. In order to continue its digital transformation process and ensure the Office is fully operational for all potential users, the Ministry has entrusted Altia with this new project, which has a two-year execution period , extendable for another two.

Over the course of the two-year project, Altia will be responsible for corrective and adaptive maintenance of the e-government architecture elements , new developments for the e-Office portal , and various developments for e-government applications and services . In addition, the technology consultancy is responsible for integrations with the SGAD's common services or other available external systems, and for supporting the integration of third parties with the e-government infrastructure.

The main elements of the Ministry's technological architecture associated with the project are the Electronic Office Portal , which allows citizens and companies to submit applications and inquire about those applications, and the Internal and External Application Portals and the Administration Portal . The Ministry has a centralized framework for accessing business applications (using J2EE technology) that allows for a uniform visual appearance (look-and-feel) of applications, management and reuse of components through their interfaces, and the use of common screens. In order to improve the user experience and facilitate a single user for accessing web applications, the portal manager is currently being used, which facilitates the unified management of application components and users.

In addition, the Ministry has a set of applications available to processing units that support electronic processing and are integrated with the Electronic Office, as well as a set of web services offered to enable the information systems of the various units to access the e-administration architecture. These include the Document Management Service, the Electronic Signature Service, the File Manager Web Service, and the Fee Payment Service.

“We believe it is great news that the Ministry has once again entrusted Altia with such an important project as the Electronic Office,” says Manuel Aranda , Associate Director of Altia. “Furthermore, this initiative allows the Ministry to consolidate the path it has taken toward the managed services modality, successfully implemented in the Development and Maintenance of Information Systems Built with Java and .NET Technologies project, which was awarded to us in 2021. Once again, we are putting all our experience in similar projects at the Ministry’s disposal, with the aim of ensuring the full operation of an Electronic Office, which is undoubtedly a critical element for users.”
