We conclude the fourth edition of our GenTech program, an initiative that seeks to foster the vocational appeal of young people to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) careers. This year, schools in Galicia and Madrid participated.

GenTech is an activity that aims to promote scientific and technological vocations from an early age, bringing together professionals from Altia to high school and college students, with the aim of dismantling stereotypes , showing digital training as a tool for the future, and emphasizing the need to close the gender gap in STEM vocations.

“At Altia, we want to awaken the technological gene among young people to motivate interest in STEM careers. As a technology company, we are experiencing a significant shortage of technological talent, and we need to work to change this trend. This will only be possible if we invest in young and inclusive talent,” commented Josefina Fernández , Director of Operations.

A space for conversation

The open and relaxed conversation space sought through GenTech talks allows students to ask questions and raise their concerns with our specialized professionals. Through this dynamic, the people who give the GenTech talks share their own experience and vision of science and technology and reveal what it means to be a professional in the ICT sector.

Gentech

A program with a future

GenTech is an initiative that is part of the activities of the Galician Digital Talent Promotion Plan, DigiTalent 2030 , promoted by AMTEGA (Galicia's Agency for Technological Modernization). We participate as one of the companies adhering to the Galician Digital Pact to boost the technological growth of the Community.

The fourth edition of GenTech was attended by more than 500 students from 15 schools in the four Galician provinces, and this year also from Madrid. It was the first step in our commitment to extending this initiative to the entire Spanish territory.
